Study Days for health professionals

Health professionals at a study day

Every year the MS Trust organises a series of MS study days for health professionals who are actively working with people who have MS.

  • Study days are open to all health and social care professionals with an active clinical caseload of people with MS
  • The days provide a broad overview of MS and a more in-depth understanding of certain aspects of the disease and related symptom management
  • Each day is attended by approximately 60 nurses and associated health professionals

The MS Trust's Education Team works with health professionals to identify gaps in MS education and various study days take place throughout the year and all over the UK.

With each study day the MS Trust incurs direct costs of approximately £3,000. A donation of £50 would enable a nurse or therapist to attend one of our study days.

Here are some of the things people have said about our study days...

MS Trust study days always make me realise how lucky we are to have the consistent support and training that the Trust provides - thank you.

I learned more about MS, treatment and patient experience in one day than I have learnt in 13 years of nursing. Very relevant information discussed and many points mentioned that I can take back to my unit to help improve MS patients experience in hospital.

Thank you for a wonderful course, we enjoyed it immensely and have learnt a lot from it. We both felt that it was the best course we had been on for many years. We have a lot of MS sufferers here and now feel that we are able to manage their disease with insight and knowledge. I look forward to the presentation notes that you are sending. Thanks again.

Well spaced sessions gave time for networking in between - really useful.

I enjoyed this day and gained much information as I am new at caring for clients with MS and it has enabled me to feel more confident in carrying out essential care, both physically and mentally.

Reassuring to be reminded that most of the work we undertake and try to achieve is on the right lines. Thank you for all the people who have made this a worthwhile day.
