A to Z of MS Health and Social Care Board
The Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) is the organisation within the health service in Northern Ireland that is responsible for assessing the needs of their local population, commissioning services to meet those needs and monitoring the performance of services.
Its role is broadly equivalent to Strategic Health Authorities in England, and Health Boards in Scotland and Wales.
The HSCB replaced the previous four regional Health and Social Services Boards in April 2009
